Hello!
My name is Justin Desens and I have the pleasure of being the 6-12 band director here in Redfield. I am also the 5th grade general music teacher this year.
I am from Aberdeen, SD and I attended Northern State University for k-12 Music Education. This 2024-2025 school year is my first full year of teaching. I graduated in December 2023 and spent the 2024 Spring semester teaching 5-12 band and 4-5 general music at Britton-Hecla. My wife Abbigayle and I got married on June 1st, 2024. So far, we have both been enjoying the things this community has to offer, and are excited to continue to make ourselves involved around town.
I enjoy riding my motorcycle around town, building legos that I can display, watching movies, playing with our cats, and I have never been able to blow a bubble with any sort of gum.
I am excited about doing band and making music with all of you! Go band, and go pheasants!
