Ideas for Summer Language Stimulation:
Preschool Ages:
* Games which involve movement, paired with simple spoken words are great! Simple things like "I do, you do" work well: the adult makes an action (such as a small hop in the air and says a word or short phrase (example; "Popcorn!"). The child then should mirror the adult's action and word (child hops and says "Popcorn!") Once your child is easily following your lead, you can invite them to take the lead (child decides the action and word or phrase and then adult mimics the child).
