Hello! I'm Mrs. Utecht and I was born in Oklahoma City, OK. My family also lived in Colorado and Texas before settling in Pittsburg, Kansas. I graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1989. I attended Concordia University in Seward, NE and graduated in 1993 with a B.S. in Education with an Art Concentration. I first taught in Battle Creek, NE. I was a Reading Recovery teacher and taught Elementary Art. In 1999, I moved to Redfield, SD and stayed at home for about 8 years. During that time, I taught Library School at the Redfield Carnegie Library, and Art Camps each summer at my home. I began teaching Kindergarten at Redfield in 2008 and taught Kindergarten for 9 years. I currently teach Art to grades 1-12. My husband's name is Pete and we have 3 children--Noel (21), Mic (19) and Kyra (16). My hobbies include baking, reading, traveling and creating art! I am looking forward to seeing the students again and plan to have a great year!
