I was born and raised in Sisseton, SD. I graduated from Sisseton High School in 1979. After four years at Northern State University, I graduated with a biology major in secondary education. In 1983, I began teaching in Redfield. My wife, Carla, also teaches in Redfield.
I am an avid outdoorsman spending as much time outdoors as possible. I have also traveled extensively having visited twenty-eight countries.
